Several of us in NWA have been able to work the DX Expedition call sign VK9NK on Norfolk Island (near Australia) via Janusz SP9FIH. I requested a QSL via Club Log March 12 for an FT8 contact on 20m. He reports all his flights were cancelled March 25, and that the island was experiencing a food shortage April 4. But his extended stay is allowing more hams to work the location.
SP9FIH reports a few days ago his amplifier gave up the ghost. Wonder how many calls he’s done on that? He is now operating barefoot on his Icom 7200.
Yesterday, he made his first LOTW uploads. QSOs requested as direct via OQRS Clublog were uploaded, and I received LOTW confirmation! Awesome considering the times in which we are living.
He is still stuck on the island and hopes be home by next year.
